Training School: Understanding the EC Grant and Consortium Agreement – legal affairs for non-legals
October 22-24, 2014 | University of Warsaw, Poland
The EU Commission’s Research & Innovation Programme “Horizon 2020” has promised drastic simplification of rules and procedures. It has been underway for half a year now, and this is the time to prepare for the negotiation and conclusion of Grant Agreements and Consortium Agreements.
In this BESTPRAC Training School experts will explain and interpret the two current published key documents, provide hands-on exercises for their use, and help you develop strategies to explain their content and requirements to the researchers at your home institutions. One full day each will focus on either of the Agreements. The Training School will cover both legal basics and specific issues that may be pitfalls for unexperienced negotiators.
In a final module we will concentrate on the communication of legal aspects and issues to the researchers. Which information do they require – and how transmit the message? It will provide both an approach to simple wording and a repetition exercise of the first two modules.
Call for applications & financial support
Early stage administrators involved in the administration and management of European projects are kindly invited to participate. Applicants from institutions in inclusiveness countries and / or those that do not have extensive legal support at hand are particularly welcome. We will be able to host up to 20 trainees during the Training School.
Following COST rules, participants (trainees) of the Training School will receive a lump sum of EUR 750 for covering their travel and accommodation expenses. No further financial support will be provided irrespective of how much the actual costs are.
Interested applicants are asked to return the thoroughly filled in application form to Martina Poell by Friday, August 15, 2014, at the very latest. The decision on who will receive reimbursement will be announced at the beginning of September 2014.
Do not buy tickets or make hotel reservations before you have received the official invitation through the e-COST system to attend the Training School. Only after having received this official invitation you are entitled to receive reimbursement.
