BESTPRAC WG1/WG2/WG3 Meeting

The 12th and final BESTPRAC Working Group meeting was held on September 5, 2019 at Ghent University, Belgium.

The meeting comprised of individual meetings of the working groups as well as joint sessions of all three working groups on topics which are of interest to all RMAs, regardless of their background or job description.

The topics of the joint sessions on this meeting were:

• Model Grant Agreement - Avoiding Common Errors, held by Gheorghe Bancos from Common Audit Service, DG RTD and

• Research Administration in Europe at this moment, held by Nik Claesen from EARMA and Virág Zsár from the HETFA Research Institute.

Since this was the final WG meeting, individual meetings of the three working groups (WG1: Administration, WG2: Finance, WG3: Legal) were focused on finalising WG outputs and their dissemination.

Apart from that, during the WG1 meeting, a number of best practices in internal communication and science communication were presented, as well as a number of 'hot topics' for RMAs such as Widening, IP in research projects and the Logical Framework approach. A discussion on RMAs job profiles was also held as well as sessions designed to develop soft skills needed in research administration. WG2 finalised the development of a H2020 Coordinator's Survival Kit and discussed a number of financial management issues in H2020 while WG3 explored rules and boundaries of the new framework programme Horizon Europe.
