Description of job and tasks involved

Managing a team of 4 providing financial reporting and advice on all research & self-financing activities at WIT.  Liaising with colleagues within the finance office and external to it in order to provide a responsive and professional service.

  • Ensure that all financial policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Reporting on all research & self- financing activities
  • Preparation of cost claims
  • Liaising with project managers, senior managers and a wide variety of external statutory and non statutory bodies
  • Co-ordinate and present financial, research focused, training for all WIT staff
  • Manage research audits

Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) is a university-level institution in the South-East of Ireland with over 10,000 students and 1,000 staff.  WIT offers tuition and research programes in various areas from Higher Certificate to Degree to PhD. WIT is the major provider of higher education in the South East region of Ireland and one of the largest IOT's in Ireland. The Institute's range and scope reflect the changing needs of the southeast as well as the country as a whole. Over the last 10 years Waterford Institute of Technology has successfully attracted over €70 million in research funding.
