Vanessa RAVAGNI
- Biography
Vanessa Ravagni graduated in Economics at Bocconi University in Italy and studied also at the University ofPadua and at the University of Bologna. She has worked in the private sector in Germany before she joined theUniversity of Trento, Italy, in 2001. Since 2004 Vanessa has been working as Head of “Scientific Research and Technological Transfer Division” atthe University of Trento. In her role, she has acquired an in-depth knowledge in the full cycle of national andinternational research projects (i.e. pre- and post-award phase, preparation-negotiation-finalization). She isresponsible for supporting researchers in developing proposals and in managing project (with particularattention on budget planning); in managing relations with the European Commission during the negotiationphase; and in giving technical advice on consortium agreements and intellectual property rights. She has followed a series of specialisation courses on EU research projects since 2005 in Italy and abroad. She gavetechnical lectures on the financial management of the FP VI and FPVII Projects at several Universities in Italy and at DG Research Innovation, European Commission. Appointed as LEAR of the University of Trento for the VII PQ and Horizon 2020, she is also in charge for the elaboration and the update of internal procedures for the management of national and international research projects/grants and coordinated the internal working group which obtained, in 2012, the “FP7- Certificate on the methodology for personnel and indirect costs”. In 2013 she has been appointed by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research as national member of the Management Committee for the Action COST “The voice of research administrators – building a networkof administrative excellence” (BESTPRAC). In this project she has been elected as a member of Core Group and leader of the working group Finance, focusing on analysing and writing guidelines on financial aspects of preparing/running costs of cross-European projects. Vanessa is a member of the IP Board of the EIT ICT Labs (European Institute of Innovation and Technology), focusing on Intellectual Property Rights and EIT Italy. Vanessa is the administrative coordinator of the University of Trento for “Alpbach – The European Forum”(Austria) and collaborated in the technical dialogue of EUREGIO (the trans-national framework agreement between Italy and Austria – University of Trento, University of Bozen and University of Innsbruck). During the 2013 Vanessa Ravagni was appointed as project manager of the International Conference of the XXVI Winter Universiade Trentino 2013 and coordinated a team of 30 volunteers and 10 members. The Conference had an overall participation of 600 participants and 30 international speakers.
